The making of Home Of Hope Orphanage"
Home of Hope Orphanage is a network of orphanages providing total care to children in the Baffoussam
Province of Cameroon. Total care includes providing the basic necessities of food, clothing and housing, as well as essential
services such as medical care and education. Most importantly we create a loving, caring, home-like atmosphere, where the
children experience the safety and comfort of a real family. Our goal is not to "Americanize" the children; rather we strive
to bring help and HOPE to these young lives, giving them the chance to grow up into stable adults who can positively affect
their community.
Home Design
Each home is designed to create a family environment for the children. Most of the children come
to us from the mountain regions of the West Province (Baffoussam) and Neighbouring areas. All come from extreme poverty.
Many of the children have never been adequately clothed or fed, and most have never received any form of medical care. They
come from a variety of backgrounds including abuse, neglect, and even abandonment.
Home Of Hope Orphans Home
We cares for the whole child-spirit, soul, and body. Through daily 'family times', health care,
education, food, clothing, and most of all love, these children receive new life and are changed forever!
Team Effort
At Home of Hope Orphanage, we employ one couple as 'house parents' to oversee and administrate the
home. In addition, each home is staffed with two or three indigenous workers who assist the house parents and help care for
the children. With over Four hundred (400) orphans in our centers, we are maintaining smaller groups of children in each
home which allows us to maintain individualized attention and care for each child. It also ensures the use of adequate facilities
without having to rebuild or relocate.
